Needs Improvement

The construction and coils seem to be decent enough. However, the instructions are not all that clear with respect to external (user) versus internal wiring. While eventually obvious it could make it easier to understand if delineated in the manual. Not clear at all how the commutator serves both as a split ring versus a slip ring setup? In the DC motor mode does not achieve full rotation, only 1/2 turn. Sometimes the brushes arc and weld to the commutator.

Labs Demonstration Motor Generator Activity Model

I'm satisfied with the product. I like the dual commutator. I can generate AC and DC. The plastic crank is a little cheap, and fits loose. I have to use a shim to tighten it on the shaft. It works well as a shunt motor at 12 VDC, but I need to use 24 VDC for a series motor. But OK. I first received Chinese instructions, then English. The English translation can use some improvement, but I figured out. Nice product and I'm using it to demonstrate. Thank you, Bob Swayne
