For engine models, the advantages of four-valve engines over two-valve engines are not only more realistic, but also higher intake and exhaust efficiency, better power output, and higher thermal efficiency. However, the disadvantage is that the process is complex and the production cost is higher.

‌Higher intake and exhaust efficiency‌: The four-valve design allows for a larger intake and exhaust cross-sectional area. Compared with the two-valve design, the intake area of the four-valve design can be increased by about 30%, and the exhaust area can be increased by about 50%. This design improves the charging efficiency and optimizes the formation of the mixture, while also shortening the combustion duration and reducing the generation of NOx. Therefore, the four-valve engine has a higher intake and exhaust efficiency at high speeds, which helps to increase the power output of the engine‌.

‌Better power output‌: Due to the improvement of the charging efficiency and combustion speed of the four-valve engine, the charging efficiency and combustion speed are improved after the use of multiple valves, resulting in an increase in engine power output of up to 45%, and the specific power is also improved. In addition, the power of the four-valve engine is significantly improved, the noise is reduced, and the valve efficiency is high, thus providing a stronger power output‌.

‌Higher thermal efficiency‌: With its higher thermal efficiency, the four-valve engine is often the first choice in the pursuit of performance. This design increases the compression ratio of the engine by increasing the intake channel, thereby improving the power performance. With the same displacement, the power performance of a four-valve engine is far superior to that of a two-valve engine.

  • DOHC (Double Overhead Cam Engine)

DOHC engine refers to a dual overhead camshaft engine, which is characterized by the intake valve and exhaust valve being driven by two camshafts respectively.

The working principle and advantages of DOHC engines include:

Higher mobility, good stability, and low noise‌:

Due to the dual overhead camshaft design, the DOHC engine is more stable and has lower noise during operation.

Multi-valve design‌:

DOHC is matched with the multi-valve design to improve the intake and exhaust efficiency, make combustion more complete, and have better emission efficiency.

Change the opening and closing time of the intake and exhaust valves‌:

The DOHC engine can easily change the opening and closing time of the intake and exhaust valves, thereby providing abundant torque at low speeds and obtaining greater horsepower output at high speeds.

Less power loss‌:

Due to the lack of valve lifters and rocker arms, the power loss is less, resulting in greater horsepower.

Valve oil pressure control‌:

The valve can be controlled by oil pressure, and the valve clearance does not need to be adjusted, which reduces the problem of power output reduction caused by changes in valve clearance.

  • Cycloidal Oil Pump

The cycloid oil pump equipped with the GS-L4 adopts a unique structure that can realize forward and reverse fluid transmission. Its compact and sturdy design is suitable for complex working conditions and easy to maintain, ensuring stable operation under high load conditions.

  • Piston

The reason why ENJOMOR chose to pay a higher cost to make a 4-valve DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine model is to better improve product performance. While having higher simulation, it can also provide an opportunity for car enthusiasts and mechanical dynamics learners to understand and experience the engine.
