CISON OHV V8 is fantastic

I have built several model engines and they all were difficult to get running involving many hours of experimentation and occasionally replacing a burned out starter motor. The CISON V8 fired up on my first attempt! I even used only a 7.4 volt battery to reduce the strain on the starter motor and this was perfectly adequate. I built the (surprise) circuit board into the alternator and it works perfectly. I have yet to install the cooling system but the double gear pump and large radiator should actually work, in contrast to other engines where the water starts to boil after a few minutes unless a large external water reservoir and an auxiliary water pump are added. Finally, after adding the ignition wires, the oversize distributor is no longer so obvious and it is the best looking engine ever. I only wish it would come in Ford blue since it looks much closer to a Ford V8 than a Chevrolet V8.

Amazing

Ok I’m not the owner, but actually built one of the SBC OHV V8’s, that I built for a wealthy family friend, who tried to build but was afraid of ruining it. So I volunteered to build. After I got it running he was curious if I could get it to power something like a minibike? I wish I had video footage from what we ended up with. But instead of a bike or wheeled vehicle, I built one into a 10’ ocean kayak! But even though rated at 4.5 hp, there wasn’t enough torque to swing a big enough prop to push the kayak to any speed greater than a paddle could, what it did was help maintain a decent speed once a paddle got it going, alas with only one passenger. Plus it would burn about 2 quarts of fuel for only 20 minutes running time at full throttle, but would get hot, even with the radiator in water. We are going to still try adding one to one of those pocket rocket 50cc bikes.

Cison V8 OHV

Excellent machining job! Very impressive engine. Once Cison finished it, Enginediy shipped it to me quickly. Outstanding job from Cison and Enginediy! Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Cison V8

Cison have done it again with the new OHV V8 engine, what a fantastic bit of kit. It was worth waiting for with a fast delivery from Enginediy. The detail of this engine is just superb, its all cnc machined and with 3 piston rings which must be a first for a model engine of this size. At first I was unsure whether to buy one due to the price, but I'm glad I did fantastic quality, thank you Cison. Hopefully Cison will bring out a gearbox for this engine.

This engine is simply amazing. The machine and engineering are second to none. Looking forward to buying more Cison Engines in the future.
